The Retro Hippie is a unique online vintage thrift store. We have a continual flow of vintage clothing and jewelry. Always changing, always one of its kind. Vintage clothing and jewelry are the precedence to any fashion forward wardrobe because they are timeless. Vintage pieces in your wardrobe will never go out of style; they are worth every penny that you invest in them. Vintage pieces are not only timeless, they are extremely versatile. Any vintage piece can be used in any array of style; classy, sexy, rocker, preppie, punk, casual, business, street, grunge, skater, surfer, did I miss any? If I did let me know.
Ok, you get the vintage part, now for the uniqueness part. The Retro Hippie is unique because it is owned and operated by an artist and a designer. That’s me, Kimmec. I go a step further in the uniqueness department. My jewelry and clothing are made using both old with the new…hence the name, The Retro Hippie. Examples would be something like; a vintage 50’s pattern with a newer, trendy print fabric, a vintage pair of jeans made into a handbag or skirt, vintage t-shirts converted into halter tops. You get the gist, old with the new…hence the name, The Retro Hippie.

Vintage Clothing...Where To Start

I love all things vintage…especially clothing. Fashion is an evolutionary machine that repeats itself over time. The world of fashion is constantly recycling its trends over and over, reinventing along the way. My personal opinion is vintage is the trendiest piece of apparel you could have in your wardrobe…you probable have it and don’t even know it. Who still has a piece of clothing they wore in high school? There old wedding dress, a pair of shoes you can’t bear to discard, how about old concert shirts? Secret…steal them from your husband. There you go, you have vintage! Ironically, that one piece that everyone keeps telling you to get rid of could probably spark an entire trend setting wardrobe right before your eyes. The secret is not to throw away…add!

Blue jeans are always the fashion rage. This versatile fashion piece is a universal part of every ones wardrobe. Think about it? Do you know anyone that doesn’t have a pair of blue jeans? I don’t. Each person from the fashion savvy to the fashion “I don’t have clue,” has a pair of jeans! You can dress them up, punk them out, casual a-go-go, slide them off your back side, surfer cut below the knee, rock them on, Goth them sinfully, fringe them, distress them, or my personal favorite…recycle them into gypsy skirts; Retro Hippie Style!
